Point-of-Care Medical and IVD Diagnostic Coating Services

Surnetics can help you with all your microfluidic product needs, from product development to manufacturing.  We can work with you at any phase of your product development process and can partner with you to provide low to high manufacturing volume products using a final defined coating process.

Material and Chemistry Selection: The Surnetics technology works with a wide range of chemistries and materials.  We select the optimal chemistry and materials to use with the liquids used in our customer applications.  In addition to their wetting and flow properties, we can also develop coating with additional benefits such as increased durability, biocompatibility, chemical resistance, etc.

Surnetics has coating formulations that can be used on the following materials:

  1. Plastics: Polyester, COC, Polypropylene, Polyethylene, Polycarbonate, Nylon, Acrylic, Silicone Rubber, and others
  2. Metals: Gold, Copper, Silver, Nickel, Steel, and others
  3. Glasses and Metal Oxides:  Glass (silanized and untreated), silicon, and others

Modeling of Liquid Flow:  Surnetics can help build a predictive model of your system to determine where the flow issues are and how we can help you solve them.   Our modeling capabilities can also be used to optimize your product design.

Analytical Capabilities:  Surnetics can perform the following analyses on coating and materials:

  • Contact Angle and Flow Performance
  • Profilometry and Ellipsometry for coating thickness
  • Raman Spectrosopy for surface analysis
  • FTIR for surface analysis

Manufacturing Trials for Commercialization:  We combine our capabilities and experience to integrate advanced coating processes into high volume manufacturing.  Partnering with Surnetics in manufacturing your product lets you achieve:

  • Consistent quality for high tolerance, precision products with competitive advantages over your competitors.
  • Access to leading state-of-the-art manufacturing  to keep your products ahead of the competition.
  • New product features (size, cost, smaller sample volumes, etc.) that you can’t get from anyone else.
